The images on these pages are in more or less
chronological order. Please let me know if you can add more information about
the people or places, or indeed if you have photos you would like me to put up.
(But I do reserve the right to edit them where necessary. Please see the page of
scanning tips before proceeding.)
Most of the colour images are taken from
colour slides, scanned in using
a Jessops Primeview 1800u (a bargain at £120)(Update Jan 2006. Jessops
Primeview now £70 or so. I have upgraded to Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV, about
£240, much easier for scanning lots of slides - and I have LOTS of slides!) The 1967 tour of the Far East is
when my interest in photography was awakened - but I wasn't very good at it for
some time after leaving Sirius.
Some of these pictures are scanned from slides
36 years old, so some fading and discolouration has taken place. Indeed, I
bought a batch
of film bought in the Solomon Islands that had not been kept in a good
environment, and the slides started out with red & yellow blotches.
Photoshop has made only a reasonable job of correction.
Please let me know if images fail to load
properly, or there are other problems with the site.
